Hi there! My name is Sophina Saggau (she/her).

Saggau is pronounced Sah-go! Sophina is just Sophia with an “n”.

I am a Minneapolis-based actor and alumni of the UMN/Guthrie Theater BFA Actor Training Program and Interlochen Arts Academy.

I have a proclivity for accents, a story-focused approach to the work, and a dependable work ethic.

When I’m not onstage I can likely be found a few feet away working as a director, stage combat assistant, or theater educator.

This year I’m very excited to be a first round reader for the Eugene O’Neill National Playwrights Conference.

Lately I’ve been regularly involved with Breaking Ice, an award-winning theater performance through Pillsbury House Theater which facilitates conversation and tools around workplace inclusion for organizations. Learn more here: https://breakingice.org/

I’ve worked locally as an actor with The Guthrie Theater, Ten Thousand Things Theater Company, The Children’s Theatre Company, The Jungle Theater, Yellow Tree Theatre, Park Square Theatre, Walking Shadow Theatre Company, The Playwrights’ Center, and Girl Friday Productions. I’ve assisted with fight choreography at many of the aforementioned theaters as well as The History Theatre and Theater Mu.
